do you pour over cake when its cool or when its warm?

what kind of a cake do you pour it over?

and what type of decorations do you put on it?

alright to be honest.. you don't have to use a double boiler... you can just pour heavy cream into your pan ... i add chocolate first.. just continuously stir it.. so it doesn't burn.. turn your heat way down... then add your heavy cream.. just until your chocolate is really creamy and smooth.. then you're ready to go.. an easy way to temper it is to add more chocolate after it is taken off of the stove.. and mix the chocolate in until it stops melting.. we always used a big block of chocolate so you can take it out after it stops melting... is this clear?? lol

i dont even use a pan. I melt my chips in the microwave on 50% power till melted. Then I had the heavy cream and mix it well. I have never had a failed batch yet.

i burnt my chocolate in the microwave.. so i do it on the stove haha... i left it in wayyyyyyyyyy too long lol so instead i think its easier for me to do it on the stove haha you can also make your own double boiler...
I use a sauce pan.. or a spaghetti pot i call it.. and boil your water... and put either a stainless steel bowl on it or another oan like a sauce pan that will fil on top of the pot.. it can sit right ontop of it. THen i let the water boil... and turn it off and put the bowl or pot ontop with the chocolate.. let it melt... If you see your chocolate not melting... then you can turn the water back on to boil.... but remember to turn it back off.. you don't really need boiling water for the whole process. you just need it hot...and the pot or bowl on top of the pan should keep the steam inside to melt your chocolate... i feel like im not making sense.. am i?? lol
