hi all! Can you please give me some pointers? I'm making a wedding cake (pg. 60 in the Wilton wedding dream cakes book. It's called blossoms of love.) It says to use the side of my 16' cake pan as my work surface, mark the sides into 12 sections. I've never done swags like this before and I'm not haveing luck with this. Please help if you can. Thank you so much!

I don't have the book so I'm giving you a bump-I hate to see anyone cry!

This looks like they just use the 127 to make a 1 1/2 in wide swag. It looks like a solid ribbon like swag. In reading the book, they have you divide it in 12ths so they are evenly marked and therefore will be right when place on your cake. I assume they have found that the royal will stick to the paper and not fall off! They also say to only do 6 at a time. Perhaps to allow for drying without chance of hitting one you have done. So I would pipe 6 of them, let them dry then remove to a safe place and pipe the remaining. Be sure to make extra for breakage.

So it looks like a simple ribbon like swag wide enough to hold the petunias inside the swag. I am not sure if this is clear enough. Hope it helps. You know, you could probably get away with doing these in buttercream if you wanted to and just put them on the cake when you decorate!
