Search the image gallery for "purse". I'm sure quite a few will turn up to give you ideas.

I just went to the grocery store yesterday and there was one of those little cookbooks at the checkout lane that I believe was called "Party Cakes" I flipped through it and it had the cutest 3D purse cake in it.

I did one (I think it's in my photos) for my niece--I just used a 9in round and cut it in half. Stood the pieces up on the flat side--does that make sense? Anyway, it wasn't hard to do. Let me know if I can help in any way.

mcrgrl040,

I did one too...you can see it in my photos. I actually used four 1/4 sheets stacked and then cut out the shape of a purse. I just had to round out the sides. I then used plastic handles (you could make them from fondant/gumpaste if you have time)
