Does anyone add flavoring to it? Can this be done or should it be left as is? I am making it today...in a few minutes.... icon_lol.gif

You can certainly add flavoring- add it as part of the liquid.
Cake. So many flavors, so little time.

I always add 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp almond extract to this icing and it tastes and smells great!

Please let me know if you add flavoring and which one you used. I am going to the store to get cream of tartar to make it too. I am curious what if will taste like. I haven't made it before. I made the no fail sugar cookies and they turned out great!

You can add flavorings to it, but you might want to be careful with the ones you add. Since it is royal icing I don't think I would add anything with oil in it. For example, I have imitation almond and pure almond extract. Since her icing is royal icing, I wouldn't use the pure kind since it has oil in it. The oil may be enough to break down the royal icing and it won't set up like it should.

Hope the helps!!

Thanks everyone! I added some clear vanilla although I haven't tasted it yet, will let you know. I'm sure it's just fine.
