I use Wilton's standard BC recipe and wanted to know if there is some way I could make it whiter. Any ideas?

Do you use butter or crisco? Clear vanilla or regular vanilla?

I got a tip off of here that said to use a drop of violet color in the icing...it works! It looks like its going to be lavender at first, but when it all mixes through it turns white. My icing is always a yellow tinge, but try this. I tried Americolor & Wilton ...either one works thumbs_up.gif

I have only made the Snow White Buttercreme, so I haven't encountered this problem. Try the clear vanilla and white butter/Crisco to see if that helps.

You can also buy a whitener food coloring to add to your buttercream to get it whiter.
