How do you perfectly peel a kiwi? I bought some the other day and had the hardest time peeling them...I used a paring knife and kind of cut around the fruit to get the thin peel off but felt like I was wasting a lot of fruit this way...the peel is so thin that is sort of sticks to the fruit...thanks

I love kiwi! I don't know if this way is any better but it works for me. I cut off the ends then stand the kiwi up and use the paring knife to then cut down the kiwi to get the peel off. I seem to have more control over how deep I cut that way.

we eat them all the time....what i do is cut them in half (not long ways...but so you have a hard end on both halves) and all you have to do is take a spoon and go in between the fruit and the peel and it should scoop easily.....and then i slice them

hope this makes sense...if not let me know and i'll try to explain it a different way..... icon_biggrin.gif Donna

dodibug-that's how i was doing it and i felt i wasted the fruit because i was cutting alot of the meat with the skin...oh well, i'll try more patiently next time..i was soooo anxiously wanting to eat the darn kiwi...

dlp-i'll try that method...that sounds pretty neat to do. when you do it this way, the skin doesn't tear?
Thanks girls...

very seldom does the skin tear... its pretty tough.....just hold it in the palm of your hand and usually the spoon just goes around easily......no waste!! icon_biggrin.gif this is the only way i ever cut kiwi......we even have kiwi vines on our property......so i've cut a lot of kiwi icon_biggrin.gif
