Does Anyone Have A Recipe For That Really Smooth Icing?

I'm looking for that really smooth icing that you find on cupcakes. To me it almost looks like royal icing, unless it is royal icing and I'm a big dork. But if it's not, do you have the recipe for it? Thank you so much!

Check the recipes on this site. Just do a search for Buttercream and you'll get a variety to choose from.
I've found that the people here are the most helpful, sharing, kindest and supportive on the web.
I have taken canned icing, especially chocolate, and wamed it up just a touch in the microwave, stir and dunk your cupcakes. Mine were at room temp. I am not sure what cold or frozen would do to the icing. Sometimes cold will crack it. I tried the same thing with buttercream, but it is NOT good LOL. Also, let your cupcakes "crust" just a touch. It will mean less crumbs in your bowl of icing.
Maybe the icing you are talking about is a ganache that is put on the cupcake. I saw the barefoot contessa on the food network put ganache on a cupcake and then a little royal icing violet flower on to. It looked very pretty.
Is it poured fondant?
You can find that on this sight. If it is that, let me know how it works I have been wanting to try that!
