Today I used Paramount Crystals and Merckens Candy melts for the first time. It was gross!! It had a kind of "chemical " taste. I don't know which one caused this. Please let me know if the candy melts taste this way or is it the crystals? I would really love to know before purchasing more.

I agree, i have used them and have had no funny taste. Its pretty much just crystalized oils, not very chemical. You only need to add a tiny bit of the melted crystals to get the right consistency.
