I got a call today for a Bridal Shower Cake. The shower is a bed and bath theme. She said she is looking for elegant, but her picture is to stick with this theme? They are getting this silver oval "tub" and attaching a shower head to it and people will be adding be and bath type gifts to it. Her colors are Ivory and Red, and wants to incorporate red roses and lillys into the cake. To serve 80 people, they would like a 2 tier cake. Any ideas??? Please...

The first thing that I thought of was maybe doing a type of "gift basket" cake? You could maybe do each tier with basket weave, and then coming out of it, you could make little fondant accents that included lotions, candles, towels, etc? You could also incorporate the roses and lilies in between as fillers.

The other thing is maybe you can do gift packages? The colors may look christmasy, but I think that would cover most of the requirements...elegant, colors, flowers and servings.

Last suggestion, I made candle cakes for a home-decor store opening. You could do something like that. A couple different cakes, and make little candle wreaths to go around each cake, to incorporate the different flowers? http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=mendhigurl&cat=0&pos=63

Hope that helps.
