I bought the majority of my character pans on ebay. As far as supplies I order a lot through sugarcraft.com and buy from Micheals and AC Moore.

Where ever I can! icon_biggrin.gif
Sometimes Michaels and JoAnn's. I also have 2 Cake Decorating shops in my area. One is called "The Decorette" and the other one is called "Decorette". I got a few things from there. I also order a good bit from places I find online. Like cake dummies from Dallas Foam Inc. have prices that can't be beat!

I live in a small, rural town. There is 1 store here that sells TONS of stuff. They also have every single tip that Wilton sells! And if you see something in the Wilton yearbook, they will order it for you and no shipping! It's way cool! (I live in that store). When I go to a larger town about 35 miles away, I go to Michael's.

I live in BC Canada and just found this store about a 20-25 min. drive away. They don't have their inventory online but went there and was in heaven. http://www.scoop-n-save.com/ They even give demos and little classes. Got some americolors there when I went (had to constrain myself)

I tend to get most of my supplies from 3 places; Michaels, my local cake store and from cincinnati cake and candy supply which i have found to be a great savings for me on fillings, boards, boxes and chocolate. icon_lol.gif

Hobby Lobby-- when it is on sale I stock up, I try not to buy any cake stuff unless it is 50% off or if I have a 40% off coupon. If I need something and hobby lobby isn't running a sale or does not have a coupon I will usually drive the extra 10 minutes and go to michaels because they always have a coupon, and they are much better organized.

Michael's, JoAnn's and AC Moore, haven't been to the Hobby Lobby that they opened up because I haven't had a chance - and always use coupons. Sams and BJs for the stuff I need to make the cakes (flour, sugar, nuts, chocolate chips, butter, eggs etc. )and Walmart for anything boxed that I might need.

Here in Canada if I don't have a coupon for Michael's I just tell them I didn't get my flyer and then just sign a book they have and give them your postal code and they give you the discount. Works every time.

I get a lot of supplies from a pastry shop I used to work at. I know the chef would also order stuff in for customers that wanted to make stuff on their own. You may be able to find someone to do the same for you.

I just got a bunch of stuff from Scoop-n-Save. Otherwise Michaels. Sometimes i will go back to my old high school, where i worked in the cafeteria, and they will order stuff in for me at cost. I got a few boxes of disposable bags that way, worked out to be about 10$ cheaper per box than going to michaels.

Hi there,

I had looked at this thread for places to buy my supplies. After researching the Internet and reasonable shipping prices, I ran across Cake, Candy, & Wedding Supply Co. I bought a ton of stuff - big and bulky. The shipping was only $11 (which is hard to believe because the weight of the boxes was more than 18 pounds). I also received the stuff within a few days (I'm in Texas).

Maybe this is normal, but I don't think I'll ever do Hobby Lobby or Michael's again for supplies because the cost of boxes, boards, etc. are so much less and the shipping doesn't hike it up.

I'm new at this, so I'd definitely like to know if someone has found cheaper stuff + shipping than Cake, Candy, & Wedding Supply Co.

Thanks!
