A Doubt With The Cheese Cake

I have a doubt i make the cheese cake with cookies crumbs crust, but this week end i made it with basic pie crust ( flour,salt,sugar,shortening,water)
but when it was cooled the crust was very hard...what happened .the basic pie crust works wiht cheese cake.

Did you prebake your pie crust. That may help. It would help keep the mositure from soaking into the pie crust

I've never heard of anyone using a pie crust with a cheesecake...and never done it myself either. I've only used crushed graham crackers, vanilla wafers, chocolate wafers, oreos and things like that. Hope someone who's used a pie crust before can answer this for you...I'm interested in hearing about it to. icon_smile.gif
