Hi,

I need help. I was going to make the a strawberry filling for a white cake I just made and I realized I need kirsh and lemons. I don't have either of them and although I could get lemons, I won't be able to get the kirsh because today is Sunday and the liquor stores are closed, so I checked here and found a recipe for Strawberry filling that didn't ask for any of the two. Has any of you tried this recipe and, if so, did you like it? How much did it make? Did you sliced the strawberries? It didn't say in the recipe and I've never made that kind of filling so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to do that. Do you have a good recipe that doesn't use what I don't have or can't get that you wouldn't mind to share???

Thanks,

Inma

Hi!

I've tried this recipe:

http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1927-Strawberry-Cake-Filling.html

I found it to be a little too thin for my liking. Maybe try thickening it up more, or build a reallt good dam of filling for your cake layer icon_smile.gif It was yummy, though!

I think I quartered my strawberries. I'm sure slicing is fine icon_smile.gif

HTH!

I have used the double fruit jam that has nice chunks of strawberries in it... everybody loved it.
