Does anyone know of a good alternative to eggs in a duncan hines box mix? I have heard applesauce; but don't know the formula for how much. And i need to try it to see if it works. The little girl is allergic to eggs. I tried the egg replacer and it didn't work. Any recipes that are really good or box mix recipes??? Please help. I am running out of time!

2 Tbso applesauce + 2 Tbsp oil = 1 egg

it's the conversion I use all the time.

What type of egg replace did you use? I've used engerG before with no problems. That said, one I've used in scratch recipies is ground flax seeds with water. 1 T. ground flax with 3 T water. let it set a minute. this = one egg. I don't know how it would work with a mix though. HTH!

I did use the ener g. didn't work it rose then fell while still in the oven. i thought it was going to work when it rose, but then it fell a lot. so i took it out. i found a couple of websites about 5 min ago and they had a few options. on was 1/4 cup applesauce per egg and one was one banana per egg and some others. so what do you recommend? you make them all the time ? you use oil with it? is this in a specific type of mix? will it work in a butter recipe mix?

I have been told that the Betty Crocker mixes are the better ones to for when using egg substitute. It's what they use at the cake shop I work at. Maybe you could give that a try as well?
