Purposely crooked cake help needed

My neice saw a picture of Collette Peters crooked cake and fell in love with it. She's asked me to make one for her graduation cake. If someone has made one - could you help with construction? I'm planning on making the cakes (14",10", 6" and a topper) regular but putting crooked foam between the layers to achieve the crooked affect. She wants flowers placed between the layers so I'm going to use floral foam. Would I use dowels for stacking and 1 long one to go through the whole cake to keep it from toppling? Would I have to shave one end of each dowel crooked? Not sure on any of this part. Any help would be greatly appreciated. icon_smile.gif

This shows you how to construct the cake with styrafoam wedges rather then the carved style which in an above tutorial.
