I get quite a few pm's for the Cuppa Coffee Cake in my photos so I'll post it for anyone who is interested. You can get really creative with this so feel free to decorate it anyway that you'd like.
1. You'll need the ball pan from Wilton for the main portion of the cup. A few days ahead of time color and roll out your fondant so you can shape the handle and base. The base of the cup is a 3"-4" fondant circle and about an 1/2" thick. Shape another piece of fondant into a freeform handle and let dry, you may want to turn it over at some point so the other side can dry. Another tip is to put your handle against the ball pan and see how the handle will fit against the cup so you get the correct angles cut. Don't make the handle too big or you may have some difficulty attaching it. If you'd like you can also make some fondant pearls to finish the top of the cup.
2. You'll want to bake and level the cake then turn it over onto a Silpat mat. The rounded portion of the cake will be at the top. Spread some buttercream on the cake before covering it with fondant. I used the same smoothing technique as a round cake. Start at the top and go slowly around the cake with your paddle until you reach the bottom. Trim the excess and let the cake sit until the fondant has dried a bit (this may take a couple of hours depending on where you live) this will make assembling much easier. If the fondant is too soft you'll get all sorts of unsightly dents in it.
3. At this point you're ready to decorate the cup. It will be much easier to do it at this point then wait until it is right side up. Just make sure you leave the very top bare since it will be covered by the base. Don't forget to decorate your handle too!
4. Assemble all the pieces with a thick royal icing. Smear some royal icing onto the base then gently lift the cake with a large spatula turning it right side up onto the base. You may need to hold it there for a few minutes so it won't topple over. Attach handle and finish off rim of cup. I used buttercream for the coffee and whipped cream.
I hope that helps you ladies! Feel free to skip steps! *laff* Or improvise on them.
Happy Baking!

I have a cake to do in May for a tea shop in town and was playing around with the idea of using one of these type cakes as my reference point!! You have definitely saved me so much time with these instructions...and headache as well, I'm sure!! It is truly appreciated!!!
Samsgranny: Just click on 'photos' at the bottom of Bikegal's post. You can find it in there.
Thanks for posting these. Have you seen the ones in the WBH book? They include mocha recipes too, and they look good!
