I'm still in 'lime' mode, and was wondering if anyone has ever used jello powder to flavor your icing? Did it change the consistency or make in funky? I'm guessing that if you don't add the hot water the proteins wouldn't be activated to make the gelatin texture, what do you think?

Looks like I'll just have to try it and let you know! icon_smile.gif As a bonus, the jello will color the bc at the same time! LOL
K- off to the lab for my little experiment...

I have used Jello powder to flavor bc. The flavor comes out nice (I used peach) but you have to mix it a long while to get the grittyness out of the icing.

I have used koolaid mix but not jello.
If you use koolaid don't add the whole packet! When I added it I used the whole packet and it was really really stong icon_eek.gif Nobody in my family would eat it LOL

Thanks annlou and AuntEm! icon_smile.gif I was surprised that my frosting did not turn bright green when I mixed in the jello, I thought it would. I did get a very pretty pale green though, which is even better. I only had sugar free jello on hand, and added 1 1/2 teaspoons of powder to about 3 cups of frosting that I had made up already. I'm going to let it sit for a while to see if the flavor intensifies after being mixed up for a bit. So far so good!
Kool-Aid is definitely next on my list to experiment with, there are so many neat flavors available now!

Let me know if the Kool-aid works for you. I would like to experiment with it again but my family won't let me icon_lol.gif
Maybe I'll try jello instead.

Put the pwder in your liquid and let it dissolve first. That should get rid of the grit.
