My friend whom I met at my wilton class called today to see if I wanted to go to this local cake supply store. Of course, I said yes. Well I walk in and couldn't believe my eyes. Katie and I looked at each other and said "HOLY $&*#"! I found Americolor there. I was so excited. I found tons of candy molds and cookie cutters. I just wanted to tell everyone about my day and I missed you all since I haven't been on since last night.

Glad you had a fun day. We have no stores around here except Walmart. For a cake supply store that has a nice inventory, I have to drive to Memphis, which is 2 hours away. Even the closest Michaels or Hobby Lobby is over an hour away!

the h.l. by me has about the same as Michaels. I agree my walmart has nothing. But the store I was at today I just couldn't believe. Can you believe this is all new to me and my mom says "oh yeah you never heard or been to that store"? Hello mom you know I have been decorating cakes for 2 months now and you know about this store.

Hey jmcakes- isn't it a great feeling when you go to a great supply store! My husband gets nervous though icon_biggrin.gif I had to do a double take when I saw your post...I thought I had written a post and forgotten. Note that our usernames are quite similar AND I am from MI AND we joined the same day! I have to say it's weirding me out a bit icon_confused.gif !!

I have found cake supplies at my local Ace Hardware store icon_surprised.gif . They even carry boxes! They have a very large selection of pans, tips, icing bags, cake circles, cake fillings, flavors, the list goes on and on. They used to carry a full line of Wilton Wedding products but discontinued the wedding line a couple of years ago. I was able to get lots of stuff, I went weekly cuz they would mark everything down again. I lucked out and got most of my stuff 60% - 90% off.
