Tomorrow is the last week of course 2 and I'm kind of looking forward to the next one. How many cakes? 2? What weeks do you do them? Thanks!

I didn't do my final cake. I made one at home and decided not to do one in class as my class was far from my home and I didn't want to drive with it. I didn't take a photo of mine. I love Course 3 though. I liked doing the package cake and learning how to use fondant.

a collaboration between sister and I. She doesn't like having sweets around since her husband is diabetic. She did top layer for her grandaughters and I have house full of people who will eat anything so I did bottom layer.

She picks everything up really fast (flowers) takes me 3 or 4 tries. I'd like to hate her but she gives me ride to classes!! LOL.

I hate the dots, started out with a million of them on the other side, (cake looks like it had the measles) better on this side except for the frosting boo boo. Didn't stop the kids from eating it.

Really enjoyed class 3, learned to like fondant for decorations but still hate the taste.

I'm not sure if that link will take you to my cake, but it's in my gallery. It's the 2 tiered cake w/lillies on it. Our teacher let us do whatever kind of cake we wanted to do, as long as we used techniques we learned in course 3.

In my class we put one together but it was just so we could see how one goes together. So there was no decorations to it really.

I omitted the small white flowers...I thought it detracted from the overall simple appearance. icon_smile.gif

here's mine. You could say I was a little busy or lazy and I didnt have time to make the roses so I used silk flowers instead.

You can see mine in my pics. The present cake I did was the first of the Santa packages in my pics and the final cake was the tiled Thanksgiving cake. My instructor let us do whatever as long as it used the skills and I appreciated that because I took my classes in the fall and the Wilton designs are very spring.

My instructor was also really laid back. We could use any design we wanted as long a we show-cased this skill that we had learned. This is what I came up with. I used a Kate Sullivan design as inspiration. The funny thing was that a couple months later my 3 yr old and I were watching a Food Network special on Kate Sullivan and they showed a picture of her cake. My son said "Mommy, she made your cake!" I was so proud!!

This was my course 3 final cake, and now that I teach class, I encourage my students to make any stacked cake they want, so it's very fun to see what all the students come up with on the final day.

Yes, you do two cakes. One on the second week and one the last week. My cakes are under my photos if you want to look at them. The package cake is the pink round one with the bow and little flowers. My final cake is the white two tier with roses, butterflies and pearls with purple ribbon. Have fun in course 3!

Wow...look at all these pretty cakes! I can't wait to start...we have a 2w break before the next class starts, too. (my instructor is going on vacation.)

Angela...I love that cake! It's so different from the usual course 3 cakes! I wonder if my instructor will let us be as creative.

Thank you so much for the compliment. I just wanted to try something different. I'm sure your instructor will encourage you to be creative and design your own cake. Can't wait to see it!
