If your butter cream is thick enough, I don't see why not! You might have to wiggle the fondant into it a bit though. I use buttercream to 'glue' fondant accents to cakes, but I don't know how big (or heavy) your accents are going to be!

Yes, just make sure your buttercream isn't too thin

If it's just the gold bits that will be fondant, I'd say no problem! It's a stunning cake, good luck with it icon_smile.gif

I don't see any reason why you couldn't do this on BC. Like evryone said, make sure your icing isn't too thin. I put a figure made out of MMF laying against a hill, the icing had not completely crusted yet. Well, the MMf stuck to it like glue. Since the the icing was still "wet", it had something to adhere to. I was afraid she was gonna slide off, but even traveling with it, it stayed on. It's in my pics.

You should have no problem, just make sure it is glued well.

I've glued fondant to buttercream cakes with out problems. I just let my icing crust over and spread a little bit of piping gel on the back of the piece to attach it.
