Wanted to know where everyone gets thier cake drums? I live in a small town and my local cake store has some, but not much variety. What material are they made out of (I need something sturdier than the old cardboard and nicer looking too).

And while I'm on here, what do you cover your cake boards that you use for stacked cakes with?

The Wilton Cake drums are just like 5 or 6 cardboard rounds put together then wrapped in the foil paper they have. When you stack the rounds you just want to make sure you are turning the ridges in the cardboard different directions.

You could also use form core board (found at your craft stores). There are also people that get mdf or plywood cut in the sizes they need.
