cook books are expensive sometimes! i am a fan of half price books stores! anyway, for christmas my mom got me a book that i really love! it has helped me more than anything else i have come across..
it is: On Baking
a textbook of baking and pastry fundamentals by sarah r. labensky with eddy van damme, priscilla martel and klaus tenbergen
the front is all about what you use and why..which is really interesting if you are making a cake and you ran out of eggs or something, it helps you weigh your options, or the exact difference between different flours,..AND the recipes are great! all of them taste so amazing! you know when you read a recipe and decide to try it and you dont think it comes out well...well i havnt had this happen at all in this book!
i want more books like this! but i dont want to spend money on something that sucks, so i know you ladies have some great references?! can someone give me titles?
