Ok. I want to make some dummy cakes so that I have some pictures of wedding cakes on my website. As well, I'd like to use them for bridal shows.

I was thinking of decorating 2 sides the same, and the other 2 sides the same. (so I have two cake pictures in one). Then I was either going to leave it that way, or take off 2 sides of royal and re-do it like the other side for show.

I was also doing to do this. I was not going to secure the tiers right away. I will take a picture of them stacked, then take a picture of them with pillars, as well as a double on top of a single (so 3 difference configurations). And I was going to change the ribbon each time. So it looks like 3 different cakes.

I guess I'm trying to get the most out of my dumby cake, until I can make more.

Is this a good idea?

Thanks Ladies!

I think it sounds like a great idea. You will get so much more with not a whole lot more effort!

Great idea. Yes, that should work.

So should I take it apart later and have one single cake for the bridal show? Would it be dumb to have 2 cakes in one?
Do you think a bride would "get it" that it is two different styles?

Oh, I just dont' want to confuse the bride, maybe that's my answer then.

I think it would be neat to have 2 cakes in one. I would just be sure to let the bride know that it's 2 different designs and her cake would only be one. I think it's a great way to show them different designs that you can do without having to make 2 seperate cakes.

Lots of great ideas to maximize the use of your dummy cakes!!! My only suggestion would be to make the two designs distinct enough to clearly show there are two different cakes being displayed.

By the way, I love the name you chose! There were lots of great suggestions.

I uploaded some of my "dummy" photos.

It was fun. I still have to do the square one, but I'm kinda pooped. So I'll do them next week.
