Cake mix cookies

Good morning all, I found this recipe and was wondering if anyone has ever tried making cookies from a box of cake mix. This is the recipe

1 pkg. any kind of cake mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs

Mix all together, add chips, nuts or candies, mix again. Drop on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until cookies are light brown.

It sounds simple enough and the posibilities would be endless as far as adding different candies, fruit etc. But I wonder if it makes a soft or hard cookie. So does anyone have any experience or advice on this recipe, TIAicon_smile.gif

I have made cookies from cake mix a few times They make soft cookies they taste good and are very easy to make. One of my reciepes call for smaller cookies with buttercream icing sandwiched between two cookies. I get a lot of comments on that one.

Yes...I do these a lot and love them! They are SOOO easy and quick...that's the best part! I just made some last week with chocolate cake mix and valentine m & m's and chopped up peppermint patties. Yummy!! I always use 1.5 cups of "additives" and usually split that between m&m's and chocolate chips. I've only done this with chocolate mixes. Except at Christmas, when someone on here posted a recipe for using lemon mix with 1 egg and 8 oz of cool whip. roll the balls in powdered sugar and bake. My husband, who is not a big cookie or sweets fan, LOVED them!!

I love cake box cookies. Very easy and quick. My favorite is yellow cake mix. Form into balls and them dip the balls into rainbow sprinkles. When they bake, the spread into a perfect circle with sprinkles on top. I've also used holiday themed sprinkles. YUMMY!!

These are very great cookies, they are very soft, moist and keep very well, the recipe is on the side of the cake box for the Confetti Cake Mix.

I have made these too! They are quick and easy, great to make with the kids because they are not as messy! I have a book called "101 things to do with a cake mix" It has all kinds of recipes to make from a cake mix. I just made bars with recees peanut butter cups last night, turned out great. If you need a recipe let me know!

I make a cake mix cookie called Homemade Oreos

You make the cookies then sandwich them with filling, these are a family favorite and they make alot of cookies.

Homemade Oreos

2 Duncan Hines Devils Food Cake Mixes
4 Eggs
2/3 cuo Oil
Mix together. Roll into 1 inch balls (melon baller works great and gives uniform cookies). Bake for 8 minutes at 375 F on ungreased cookie sheets. Cool cookies and spread with filling, sandwich cookies.

Filling:
8 oz. pkg Cream Cheese
3 to 4 cups icing sugar
1/2 cup Butter
2 Tbls Vanilla
cream together.

Variations:
1. Use mint extract and a drop of green food coloring for Mint Oreos (my favorites)
2. Use Cherry extract and chopped cherries for Black Forest Oreos
3. Use Spice Cake mixes and Maple extract in filling for Maple Spice Oreos
4. Use Lemon Cake mixes and Almond extract in filling for Lemon Almond Oreos.
5. I also like to dip them in chocolate and make chocolate covered oreos, yummy

**Keep refrigerated. They freeze well, look nice and make alot of cookies, great for exchanges.
