Hello eveyone: I have a question I need to be answered? I am being to do the small figurines that I have seen on some of the cakes in the gallery, and I was wondering do you use fondant for that or gum paste or do you mix them both and make the figurines. To make the flowers are they only made with gum paste? Please let me know. Thanks. Vicki0052.

Different people do different things. Some do them with fondant. Some do them with fondant plus gumtex. Some do them with gumpaste. And some do them with a fondant/gumpaste mixture.

I usually do fondant plus gumtex.

I do most of mine with fondant, candy clay, or rolled butter cream. But you will find what wors best for you. Good Luck!

It's all what you prefer.........using just gumpaste, it will harden quickly and get very hard........using just fondant, it will take a few days to get hard.......using fondant and gumpaste mixed or fondant with gumtex will allow you more playing time but will dry very hard in a day or less
