I can't help but think that my roses look like cabbages. icon_sad.gif I haven't done roses in a while. Do they look ok or should I re-do them?????? They are royal icing for a cake for Friday so I still have some time

I really like them-if you think they are too big try some smaller ones and then you can pick between them or mix them up-I really like the color. I store my extra flowers in a container in the freezer!

They look great to me. Once they are on the cake they will look awesome.

Are you sure you are turning your "rose tip" the right way? My instructor told me, if they look like cabbages, your turning them the wrong way.

Nah I have the tip the right way up. I think I'll just leave them. Once the leaves go in it should be ok I think.

I don't think creativecakesbylindsay means your tip, but your nail maybe. I know that for regular roses I never noticed, but when I tried Wiltons "victorian" rose it kept coming out horribly wrong. I couldn't figure it out forever, but then my instructor finally noticed I was turning the nail the wrong direction. I was squeezing the bag with my right hand and spinning the nail to the right instead of to the left (I'm try to picture it in my head and I think that's the way I was doing it). Regardless, I switched the direction I was spinning it, and viola, perfect rose!

Other than that, I think that they look good. Mine always look better to me once they are on the cake. Keep up the good work!
