I just signed a cake that i've wanted to make ever since I saw it! It's the calla illusion cake that looks like the flowers are coming out of the top of the cake. They're as excited as I am about it!

Hi Cake Maker,
Is your calla illusion cake one of those cakes where you cut and lift off the fondant? Those are really cool looking cakes. I've been wanting to try one of them, but they seem so complicated. You'll have to share the experience with us. Also, what city in Maryland do you live in? I live in Rockville. Your cakes are so beautiful and creative. It would be nice to visit your bakery if you weren't too far away.

I wonder if we are on the same page but if we are, I have been so wanting to make one of those cakes. I have not had the opportunity yet. Maybe this summer I will find an excuse to make it.

Here's a few links to some pics

Cake_Princess - that's the cake! They want square tiers with two two tiered satellite cakes. I've loved those cakes since I first saw them! The wedding isn't until August so it will be a while before I get to post it. Maybe i'll do a smaller trial run before that time.

carterl - i'm in Harford County in the Fallston/Joppa area. I don't have a bakery though I'd like to some day! Thanks for the compliments!

OMG! I saw the cakes from the links above, and I got to say those are BEAUTIFUL. I'm wondering how they do that. Must be hard! I can't wait for someone to post the instructions somewhere. hahahaha! Thanks for showing!
