Does anyone know of a recipe that is close to those big sugar cookies that Sams sells? They usually have a thick layer of icing that are colored according to whatever holiday or time of year it is. My family loves them and I want to make them...

Thanks!

On CC recipes there is a recipe for icing the one marked Royal icing for decorated cookies. It's different from Wilton royal icing. It is very close. I add almond flavor, just a touch and I think it taste closer that way.
I like Sams cookies too. But then again, I like ALL cookies.

Are Sams sugar cookies flavored almond? I never noticed an almond flavor?

I'm not even sure that it is royal icing that they use... I swear it was a type of buttercream. It slightly crusts but is not hard at all...

I wish someone knew!

I was wondering if flavoring could be added to the royal icing for cookies, now I know! Thanks!

HHHMM I'm not sure. I only use almond in the icing. I read the package once, and it had almond in the icing, along with a few things I couldn't even think about spelling or even reading.
