Hello,
I was wanting ideas on how to keep the icing from sticking to the seperator plates when lifting it off of a layer of a wedding cake. I have read to sprinkle powdered sugar on the icing before putting the plate down and also wondered if that worked. Thanks for all your help!

I've heard of sprinkling the powdered sugar and then cutting a piece of wax paper to fit also......then when you remove the plate......simply peel off the wax paper and voila.......perfect icing ON THE CAKE.....not on the plate

Good idea, but it's overkill...the powdered sugar works perfectly by itself.

I have heard of the coconut but have been afraid to try it. Coconut is one of those things I'm afraid people may be allergic to and not realize it is on the cake.
