Add a "For Sale" Section?

Jackie, have you considered adding a for sale section on the site? Many of us have bought things they would like to sell and what better place than to other decorators? (Ebay is horrible- I have been ripped too many times to ever give them another chance). Other sites have this and it seems to work really well. Members not interested in purchasing can just stay out of that forum area. I know I'm always interested in used equipment sold by members of boards I belong to.

Just a thought.

I like eBay all right, but you do have to be careful. A "for sale" section here would be good, to be able to buy and sell within the forum makes sense to me.

I know i would LOVE a silve platue on ebay they go for over $90 but you can get them much cheaper but you have to buy a case of 4 for 180 plus shipping and then re ship who need 4 cake platues?

But if you could sell them here, or get some other people to go in with you that would work. icon_lol.gif or buy them and sell them on ebay for over $90 icon_wink.gif

Sounds like a good idea! We would have to think about how it would work. Bidding? 1st come 1st served? How would people pay? I'd hate for someone to miss out on something they wanted and then get upset about it. Unfortunately we'd have to cover all of that first.

I think that is a great idea! Id feel alot more comfortable buying from here than from E-bay!!

I absolutely love the idea! I have cake pans galore that I will never use and would love the opportunity to get rid of them "for cheap"! It's a wonderful idea but I would definately NOT want to have any bad issues between members because of a sale that wasn't what was expected. I believe we are all honest boys and girls here so I don't think that will be too much of a concern.

I just mean a simple hey, I have this for sale- email me if you're interested. OK- Pay me through paypal or send a money order (no risk) and I'll mail it to you (yes, some risk). If we do bidding that gets Jackie involved and that's just sounds like headache. I just mean a section no different than the classified section of your newspaper. A simple "For Sale" and "Looking to Buy" section. Also if we do bidding, we'll end up with dishonest people (bidders) like they have on ebay. No way around it.

For sale and Looking to buy both sound great. Or a combination of the two. I agee on the no bidding thing - that's what e-bay is for and that could get the site off of what it was intended for. A great place for us to share and learn about a common interest (or is it obsession?!)
