Oh, that brings me to a second question...
When you stack cakes, if you were using say an 8 and a 10, would you separately bake (2) 8" and (2) 10" and fill in between them or do you just make (1) 8" and (1) 10" and cut them in half to fill?
Does 1 of each size make it high enough? Does 2 of each size make it too high?
Obviously I have never done this before....
I answered this question on your other post & suggested 2 layers each, but I have to say I love the look of KiddieKake's cake!! That is so pretty, I would have to agree that doubling the layers does make it very heavy to lift I'm just no good at torting so I always bake 2 layers
I always bake one cake, but i make it 3"...and then i torte it twice...so i hake one cake, and have 2 layers of cream in it...i don't like baking two cakes, there is more waste and more time, i only do it if i want an extra tall cake...then i make them both 3 " and torte twice
I do the same as cakefairy18-I bake one 3" cake and torte twice. I did this for both the Scooby Doo cake and Baptism cake in my gallery if you want a visual on height. The look of the layers is very pretty once cut.
Wow, this is the exact ? I had. Thank you to all!
Now, I'm wondering if the cake will go high still even if I use pineapple filling and not the icing feeling?

This is what I do too
