I just made some cream cheese frosting but it seems to thick to put on a cake..I want to thin it. Do I add water or the cream? would it make a difference if I used heavy whipping cream becaise that is all I found at the store.

Don't know your recipe but when I make cream cheese frosting (enough for 8 hotel pans) at work I use cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and milk. Oh ya and some vanilla. It's not crusting. So my suggestion would be milk but add a little at a time
