Hey, I just got an order for the same thing tonight!
Is yours 2 tiered? I have a footprint cutter - came with the 101 set, but I think I want the feet to be a little smaller than that. They looked too big on the cake picture the lady brought me. Lets let each other know what we find!

I will also be working on a baby shower cake - due April 7th. I was trying to get ideas, and thought of the footprint cookie cutter as well.

I browsed through the gallery last night, and after 400 pictures didn't really have any other ideas.....

This is the link to the cake the lady wants, it was on this site: http://dianessweettreats.com/Babyshowers.html

I have to do the backgroud in pale green and the feet white then painted pearl, and they want the Wilton Silver baby carriage on top instead of booties! Hope it helps you!

Ive seen some cakes posted where the toes are separate from the foot. I'm hopeing to find out how to make those. The cake that I need to make is similar to the one on the "cake lady wants" site.

mommallama -

I too like the one with the seperate toes. I am really excited about this cake!

Also, If I do a cake similar to the one on Diana's Sweet Treats - would I need to dowel the cakes for support or just stacking them alone would be okay? I generally get frustrated with the dowel-ing so I stick with the tiered cakes.

Any ideas?

You could just cut out the whole foot print, amputate, and replace as the little circle toes!

Yes, you'd need to board and dowel, but it's only going up one cake! You can do it!

I need to know that too, about the dowels , I mean. I kinda though you always had to use them when stacking. I will be doing 10" on bottom 6" on top. I'm doing my first stacked cake in two weeks, are they hard to do?

I've done a version of this cake. MommaLlama, I sent you a PM regarding the feet.

For the stacking I just put my 2nd cake on a saran wrapped cake board, put some buttercream on top of the base cake, and placed it on top. I then took a well sharpened dowel (not a skewer, a real dowel) and gently pushed it through. When I hit the first cake board I gently tapped it through, down the base cake and then gently tapped it into the bottom cake drum. That cake was solid!

I've seen it at the Michael's in my area (Bluffton, SC) but I'm sure you could google it or search ebay to find one. Good luck!
