I've tried those. I like them. It's been a while, but I'm sure it tasted just as good, if not better, than the others that don't use butter. It should be fine icon_smile.gif

HTH!

For best results let the butter set out at room temp until soft works better that way I have found.

I havent seen those in Canada, but I would think they would be better than the oil kind. Oil has no flavour IMHO

I actually prefer them to the oil cakes! I wish I could find them here more often. Only certain chains carry them and I don't shop the overpriced markets (who does?) I think you'll enjoy these cakes.

I use them and l add a tsp of vanilla to mine like helendelk does. I like them, the batter is a little thicker and the cake is nice and moist.

Just used one last night to make a basketball cake. I only used half the butter asked for on the box. The ball instructions said to use half the oil to make a denser cake. Worked like a charm. Tasty good!

I like butter cake, it's heavier than regular cake, a little on the side of pound cake. Yummmm

if you used the butter yellow cake mix, that is the best i have ever tasted. my kids always come home and see cake scraps and ask, "is this the good cake!!??" it's my customers favorite too!! icon_biggrin.gif

I guess I'm the only one who didn't like the mix with a whole stick of butter. It was too heavy on the butter flavor! And I love butter - but I'm sure it's a matter of taste - literally - since most people seem to like it. icon_smile.gif

It's a little heavy on the butter flavor for me too, but that's just my tastebuds. I've found that lots of other people really like it. Like Helendelk and jo_ann, I also add vanilla to the mix.

I made a Duncan Hines Butter Recipe Fudge and it nearly killed me. There was just far too much butter in it for me.

Incidentally, I made a Butter Recipe Yellow sheet cake last night. It's not for me so it doesn't matter. I haven't had any complaints about them from customers, just from myself!
