Hi everyone:
As some of you will remember, I just asked recently your advised about my niece engagement cake and I have one more question about it. I decided to use the uncan Hines cake box, I bought 2 boxes of the white vanilla cake and one chocolate. The reason why I bough 2 different types cake flavor is because the bride and groom love chocolate, so I am making the last teir in the choc. cake mix. Now I want to make two more tiers of the vanilla cake mixes, the questions is this: "will two boxes of the vanilla mix cake be enough to feed 40 to 50 people? The choc. I am only serving the vanilla cakes to the guest, because one never knows who dislikes choc.
I almost forgot what size pans do I used for all three tiers?
Thanks again guys.
Tina
I would guess pan size would be up to you. If memory serves me correctly one box will only serve 12 guests I think. I am sure someone here knows more than I do but the Wilton site has pan sizes and how much batter to use for each.
Well, If it were me, I would do a double layer 10" and a Double Layer 8".
Those 2 combined will serve 48 people. But you are going to need more cake mix. I use 1 cake mix for a 10" round, so the double layer will take 2 mixes, and you can probably get by with splitting a mix between the 2
8" layers.
Then you can make a 6" double layer of the choc. mix for the bride & Groom.
You will definitely need more cake mix though!
I want to thank you for the information. I will check the Wilton site.
Have a great evening.

I think the the extra cakes sound good to me. I rather have extra cakes than not enough and really be embarrassed. I appreciate your quick response.
