I will be doing a wedding cake for a friend of mine in May. It's her second wedding and she doesn't want it to be huge or anything. Her initial guess for people was 35-40, which may change, but her point was that there wouldn't be many. Would you give a discount to a friend who you know has a smallish budget?

Cheers,
Darci

i would probably give maybe a $10.00 discount. is she a real close friend?? if it's only for that amount of people, a small discount would be fine.

If it was a good friend........I would tell her to consider it her gift and not charge........it's not going to be a HUGE cake......and then you don't have to worry about getting her anything......and you'll be her hero for saving her money!!!

I usually tell them I have a friend and family discount.. 10% off. If I offer to make a cake for someone then I give it to them but if they ask for something I charge.
