i decided for a while, but now i've had it! icon_mad.gif i'm through with character cakes!! they take too stinking long and are hard on my back. icon_redface.gif it's because of these terrors that i have back pain to begin with!!
my husband is probably going to hit the roof because he spent over $500.00 on all sorts of different pans, many that have never been used. i don't like mixing all the colors and standing or sitting for so long piping those back-breaking stars!! i don't know when i'll get around to it, but i am selling all my pans on ebay. i gotta at least get something for them so my husband won't have a cow!! icon_eek.gif when i do have them all on ebay i will let everyone know. icon_lol.gif

I sympathize! When I did my daughters Dora cake it took ages, but she and I loved it, so I for one will be interested in your pans when they go up for sale thumbs_up.gif

Instead of stars have you tried doing a smooth or pallette knife looking technique? It would go a lot faster than those stinkin' stars.

awww, its ok...i only bought 4 before i realized what a pain they were...and they are sort of classics...minnie mouse, tweety, and tigger(they won't really get old) and the only one i regret...Dora..she's doing ok for now, but i don't think she'll be a classic like the rest...

and even thought i only have 4, i'm planning on getting rid of them. Ppl don't really ask for them much...and they are a pain in the butt!!

I like them. I do like being creative and doing my own designs sometimes, but then those times that I'm not feeling so creative I like to have these to fall back on. Maybe I'm still novice at this, but they give me a slight challenge to get them to look like the picture. I'm interested in the pans when they go to ebay, I have about 20 I guess that have mostly came from ebay, I do get request for them from time to time, although I have a few that are outdated and I'll probably never use. Good Luck!

"here is a list that i will be selling:"

GEEZ that is a lot of pans. you were ambitious!

I just say NO to character pans...too much time and they're a PIA.

By getting rid of these pans you will open yourself to being more creative and having more fun with your cakes icon_smile.gif

You've made a good decision.

Live and learn is what I always say. I've made investments on materials before without really knowing what I was getting into and been stuck. At least you'll no doubt sell these easily on Ebay. Everything I've ever sold on Ebay has sold no problem and has brought me a fair price. Wilton does especially well there. thumbs_up.gif Good luck!

I will be interested in those pans. I love to decorate whether it's my own creation or a character pan. I have well over 100 pans both character and "regualar" ones. (round, square, hexagon, etc.). I also collect them and have them on display.

I would be very intersted in those pans as well. I seem to buy any and every pan I think maybe someday I would like to make for someone. I guess this is why so many of them are in Rubbermaid containers.

Diane ..

Just a tip -- don't put them all up on Ebay in one auction (if that is the method that you will use to rid yourself of the pans). Some of those may go for more separately!

Trust me - I know - i'm one of those ones who paid $20 for an Ariel pan a few years ago! icon_wink.gif

good luck

Jay

Jay is 100% right! You should sell individually or in very small sets of 2 or 3... don't try to sell in one big lot. You'll not make as much $. thumbs_up.gif
