Hey everyone,
This weekend I'll have to make my first fancier cake ever and I am totally terrified. My aunt has an anniversary- 50th birthday. I'm making her the cake but I'm so unsure of what to make... + the cake has to be make on Friday and transported 150 miles on Suturnday.
I'm thinking of the following combos:
1. yellow cake + vanilla filling + buttercream + ganache
2. banana cake + vanilla filling + some king of fruit filling /i'm not sure what/+ buttercream
Or something else...
And then comes the hard part- the decoration- I have no access to shortening, so I'm not sure if my bc will be good enough to decorate with and I have to make rolled fondant myself if I want some roses done, and I really want something pretty and endearing for my aunt. Please, please help out if you have the time to spend on my problems

I love the simple, elegant look that ganache has. It would be wonderful over a banana cake! You can also chill ganache and whip it to decorate with or if you would like the recipe I use for chocolate fudge buttercream ganache I will give it to you. It spreads beautifully and pipes decorations well. I'm sure I have a pic in my photos of a cake made with this icing. The best part-no shortening needed!

Roses with ganache covered cake would be very pretty!
