My MIL is graduating bible college and I wanted to do a cake. I'm not sure if I want a closed book or opened...... Do you all have ideas?

a bible college? I must be really tired right now, because I am not sure if its a private college for other "jobs" or was she studying to be a pastor??? If she was studying the pastor thing then why not an open book verse or scripture on it...and then the congratulations on the other page... use gold dust or whatever you can to get the sides looking like a bible? Our family bible has gold trim edges....

Yes, she will be a minister. Bible verse sounds good, that's what I was thinking, but I really wanted to see some pictures and how it was layed out on the cake.

Godiva's Bible cake was a closed book and just perfect! Maybe I or someone else can find the pic.

Yes, I saw that one and Godiva told me how to get the letters on there. I think that is just beautiful! She did a wonderful job!

Here's a picture of Godiva's cake. Beautiful, isn't it.

There is a thread here somewhere, with a link, but I think it is in another subject class. Janice

She was so funny about that! I finally got it out of her too (I think she was just playing hard-to-get). She asked how I did my turtle so I shared how and then told her she had to post how she did her lettering--LOL! She wrote it in the comments section of the turtle cake in my photos if anyone is interested.

Janice...I just can't see that pic enough. It has become one of my favorite cakes.

Wow, talk about uncoordinated, I managed to mess up both posts! I'm glad somebody else had the link and picture. That cake/bible is so beautiful, I don't believe I'd be able to cut it at all! Janice
