Hello! First, I would like to say how informational this site is!!! I have been in the cake business for a little over a year. I have been selling primarily to businesses and catering companies. I recently have been asked to make 9 birthday cakes for a clients wedding in May. She would like me to draw up a contract with deposit info, etc. I am lost!!! I have never written a contract. My current clients pay COD and I submit an invoice to them for payment. Does anyone have any sample contact they would sent me or give me some info on how to write a contract??? I have searched the internet with no luck! Any advice would be appreciated!
Thank you!

Do you have to be lisenced to draw up a contract with clients and also sell to caterers and event organisers.

Let me know?? I am looking into starting a cake business from home and would like additional info on it.

This contract is very simple and is why I like it. Earlene's has a nice one, but way to involved for what I need

I use 2 different contacts. One for the initial booking (paying deposit/reserving wedding date) and one for the actual design of the cake. The reason I do two, is that a lot of customers aren't decided on their cake design/flavors/etc. when they book. This way I can have them sign the contract when they put down their deposit. It's pretty simple with name and all contact info., wedding date, deposit amount and info, cancellation date, and that's about it.

The other contract is more detailed, with the number of cake servings, design and flavor info, other decorations (flowers, etc) that I require the customer to sign so that after the fact they can't come back and say I didn't make what they asked for.

Do you think you could post an example of your two contracts for us? That would be sooooooo helpful. That sounds perfect.
