Not really a complete disaster, but kinda funny. I made a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and chocolate transfer of Curious George this weekend. The customer came and picked it up. All was well. I talked to her last night and she said it was fabulous.

Then she confessed---She had it sitting on her screened-in porch to stay cold and set it on a box while she got something out of her freezer. She heard a noise and looked over. The cake had fallen off the box and was top side down on the floor. OOOPS!!! She said she nearly died when she saw it. Here's the good part---She opened the box and the transfer had broken in 2 places, but went right back into place. That's IT, no other damage to the cake. And it tasted fantastic...I got a taste and it was very moist and delicious (even if I do say so myself). I don't know how she flipped that cake and it didn't fall apart, but boy am I glad it didn't....

The cake is really wonderful. I think the cake was just super cold and that is why it didn't smush.

Was the cake in a box or did it fall top-down onto the floor of the porch??

That's pretty amazing. LOL I just hope it was in a cake box! icon_biggrin.gif

Aren't you glad this didn't happen where you could see it? It's enough to give a girl a heart attack!

I would have cried. This past weekend I was taking my grandsons b'day cake into his parents house and it had been snowing all day. Well her floor gets slippery when it's wet and the dog ate the rug. Anyway I slipped and started to fall. She's grabbing for me and I'm yelling "SAVE THE CAKE". There was a house full of people. It was funny afterwards but all I could think of in those few seconds was that cake getting ruined.

The cake was in a box, thank goodness. She said she almost did cry until she opened the box and saw that it was still in one piece....
