Is gumpaste edible? I assume so, though maybe not so tasty. I mixed it with my fondant and was so happy that my ducks didn't sink as much as my safari animals last time. I'm doing this from now on!

Yes, it is like really hard candy....kind of reminds me of a "necco wafer" only a bit less flavor. Kids like to chew on it sometimes. icon_smile.gif

Yes, gumpaste is edible. All the ingredients are plant-based. It is not very tasty, it is very hard, so sharp edges can form when biting into it, and usually, your customer is not smart enough to remember "Wire - not edible!"

Gumpaste has a very long history in food decoration -- during Medieval days it was called sugarplate, when there were no synthetic ingredients.
