Is there a website that you can go to that shows other uses for character pans. I have a few character pans and would like to know if there are any other uses for them. I have mini scooby doo, spongebob, popeye, spiderman and hercules.

TIA,
Chrissy

Make jell-o molds? Some of them, like the animal crackers and little hero have multiple uses, but I find that a lot of the character pans are really limited. The mini bear mold can be turned into a monkey, the bigger bear can become an elephant, the standing lamb makes a good roller skate, egg pans make a nice face, ball pans can turn into tea pots......

Wilton lists some on their website and others can be found in the YBs.

What kind of uses are you talking about? Are you talking about different things, other than what it is, to decorate it with? Like using the scooby doo for a different dog? If so, so pan shapes can be used for other things, but those are usually ones that aren't the liscened characters. If you have any of the Wilton yearbooks they show some different uses for different pans.

Now if you are talking about different uses besides cake then there area a few things you can do. Such as: Large cookies, Rice Krispie Treats, Jell-O, Bread, Cinnamon Rolls and Ice Molds.

That's a great list Lisa, I didn't know they had that, but none of the ones she has are listed! It is frustrating to spend $10-11 on pans that won't get that much use. Luckily I have a neighbor who does cakes too so we call back and forth and share sometimes! Maybe there's someone in your area who'd like to share in the future?

I wonder if we could come up with some different uses for the ones she listed?

I'm thinking Hercules could be a chef...replace the sword with a big wooden spoon and the shield with a bowl of spaghetti. Or maybe a matador if you replaced the sword with long-stemmed roses and the shield with a red cape?

Popeye could be turned into a handsome guy holding a bouquet of flowers. Might be a stretch but he's got the chizzled chin icon_wink.gif

Spongebob could become a walking book maybe for a school event.

Spiderman could become an alien or a mummy.

I was hoping to be able to make some other types of sculpted cakes with them. The mini scooby I bought to make big peanut butter cups for a party, we bought popeye b/c my husband collects popeye things, spongebob was given to me, spiderman was for my son's b-day and hercules was an impulse by b/c it was 70% off. So, I don't usually buy the pans unless I already have a use for them. However, I hate to buy one and then never use it again.
