This may be disjointed because I need to rant and I don't feel like going back to edit!

After many years I finally decided to jump into it and do (birthday) cakes 'professionally.'
Just as I am about to launch my home-based business, my mixer finally died. I put my plans on hold temporarily and figured I'd use the time to iron out details (pricing, product etc)
Meanwhile I have an event for which I was asked to bake, and my M-I-L was kind enough to lend me hers.
I overbaked too many things and even my 10 y.o. was critical of my displaying my products not to MY liking! (I loved him for that!)
Meanwhile I decided I'd make my F-I-L a b-day cake (Chocolate raspberry-mousse) and now he can't eat it (more for us!) because he's got an active ulcer (he was actually hospitalized : ( for it).
Anyway, it feels better to be able to rant to all of you.
I was talking with an aquaintance who asked what I do for fun, and when I told her that I bake, she asked, "no, really. Is that enough?" I told her that it's my therapy!
Anyway, my DH is away on business, the kids have had colds, my youngest has gotten so battered because he thinks he's a monkey, I got sick and my car has a flat (at least I can use DH's!)

Thanks all !!!!
