I know that there is sometimes an after taste when using red or black food coloring. Has anyone had this trouble with the Americolor reds/black?

Just curious

I would like to know as welll. I just ordered some and haven't had a chance to try them yet. When I used the wilton ones they definately had a bad taste to them. Hopefully these won't.

I think the black has a horrible taste! I used the darkest chocolate frosting ever, to avoid using alot of coloring. It was still gross. I had to add a ton of cocoa powder and vanilla to the icing to hide the flavor. I usually suggest black as an accent color only, just for that reason. Not sure about the red

I haven't noticed any aftertaste with the Americolor red. I recently made two separate cakes that were mostly red, and no one said anything about it to me.
