I am attempting the whimsical tilted cake by BKeith on this site. My daughter is away at college and missed her birthday on February 4th. She gets winter break and will be coming home tomorrow, so I am surprising her with this cake and a party on Sunday.

The cakes are baked and filled, stacked, cut and crumb coated. Fondant roses, leaves, ball borders, melted chocolate lettering, and gumpaste squigglies are done. Buttercream is made and ready to be tinted. Tomorrow, I'll throw it all together and keep my fingers crossed!

But for now....I just cracked a Smirnoff Ice Lime cold beverage and am enjoying some down time away from all things cake! (and yet I am on the CC site!) DH is taking a quick nap after work, then I'm hitting him up for dinner out and maybe a couple of drinks and an hour or so shooting pool at the local pub.

Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to every one that has helped me with guidance on this cake. I'll post my pic tomorrow night. (If it stays standing!) Wish me luck. icon_smile.gif
