I'm coloring my icing red but it's not red enough more of a deep funny looking pink. Any suggestions on how to get it a deep red like spiderman? I'm using Americolor Super Red coloring.

Thanks

I would suggest waiting a bit. I usually try to make it the day before. It always turns a deeper red.

If you use the red powder instead of the wiltons jel coloring it works better
I just completed a red and white cake for a shower using the powder thats what the lady at the cake supply store told me to use.

you can use the gel and add a little powder to darken it... or wait a few hours so the color intenses...

I've used Kool-Aide or some kind of powdered drink mix to make red before. Just use the kind with no sugar in it to prevent it from getting overly sweet.
