I want to do the recipe for the Chocolate Ganache 1, but I don't have that much chocolate. I do have Ghirardelli cocoa. I saw the recipe for Chocolate whip cream calls for the same amount of cream, and 1/4 cup cocoa (but 1/2 cup sugar compared to 2 tablespoons).

HELP PLEASE, I'm trying to do my cake tonight icon_redface.gif and didn't expect to run into this problem.....I know, I know icon_evil.gif , I have learned my lesson - check that I have all ingrediants!!!!! icon_cry.gif

hey Miah,

Unfortenately you can't use powdered cocoa in place of chocolate for ganache. Without the cocoa butter in it the ganache won't set. You'll end up with a pretty good chocolate sauce though. If you have pure chocolate chips you can use those in place of missing chocolate. Even milk chocolate works for this, although I hate the taste of it. Thats just a personally preference though.

Good luck

Carla

no problem. I've had my fair share of ganache disasters and I just wish someone could have helped me through them.
