Cracks VS. Royal Icing

Yesterday I made my cookies for my show entry. Well, they all have cracks in them. They look like the cracks that are characteristic of snickerdoodles! The cookies themselves are fine in shape and all but I'm wondering if the cracks or mini fissures if you will will show up once I ice them with Antonia's icing!!!!

do you mean big cracks? (sorry, I don't actually know what a "Snickerdoodle" is? icon_redface.gif )

Ahhhhh, SquirrellyCakes explained the "Snickerdoodle" cracks to me! Thanks!!


Did your roll your cookies out using flour? That may have been the reason these fine cracks appeared. icon_confused.gif

Anyway, the icing should absolutely cover that without any issue.

Antonia74, yes I rolled them out with flour. I've made these before many a time! This is the first time that's happened. HMMM, could it have anything to do with my new oven!!! Not sure but subsequent batches turned out fine but the ones with the fine cracks in them are the ones I'm going to be using because they are the better shaped!

I am so glad the icing will do fine on the cookies! I was so worried and I certainly don't want to have to make another batch!!!
