I am going to make the following white chocolate buttercream recipie that I have listed below (from this site):
8 oz white chocolate
12 oz (3/4 lb) unsalted butter
4 large egg whites
4 oz sugar

My question is this. If I frost and decorate the cake on Friday morning. Can this cake be left at room temp. until Saturday afternoon. I know the cake is going to be okay, it is just a german choc. from a mix. I am just wondering about the frosting. Thank you all very much!!!!!!!!!1

I would say no.... I wouldn't do it. I would probably try making the icing with meringue powder. I use that to make my Nick Lodge gumpaste and I know most people say that it is safe to use the egg whites in this recipe but I feel better using the powder. They also have egg whites in cartons that are pasterized. I used that to make eggnog this year but I did not leave it out or anything. HTH
