Can I cover my cake in a sugar glaze and then cover with MMF instead of buttercream and MMF? Will this affect the taste. I plan to make an irish cream yellow cake with an irish cream glaze and vanilla pudding filling. Any other filling/topping ideas for irish cream yellow cake are more than welcome.

I've only used bc under my fondant, but know that many use an apricot glaze....so don't know why your glaze wouldn't act the same as the apricot (????) Sounds wonderful!

Since the glaze may not be as smooth as a buttercream finsih, you might want to be careful that you don't roll your fondant too thin. A bit thicker, 1/4 inch, and any imperfections will be less likely to show.

....and then post instructions for the guests to be sure to sharpen their dentures so they will be able to chew the stuff! LOLOL!!!!! (I agree about the thinness of the glaze.....which is why I do the BC, but I'm not a gambler and lot's of people use the apricot glaze with good luck)
